Project Management and Job Aides

Faculty Course Planning Guide
Rapidly designing and developing high-quality e-learning experiences at a highly ranked post-secondary institution requires a great deal of collaboration and organization. Working with faculty, I learned that I needed to keep the ‘design speak’ to a minimum. I found a clever way to introduce faculty to Backwards Design and the ADDIE model with a job aide I built in Coda.io. This collaborative document scaffolds the course design and development process for faculty by breaking down each step of the process into collaborative deliverables with transparent due dates to keep both of us on track.

Custom Project Management Database
In 2018, our team of two instructional designers was tasked with delivering up to twelve full courses every two to three months. I immediately dove into developing a project management database in Coda.io with standardized, yet flexible workflows that we could add upon as a project evolved. The resulting database promoted personal ownership over tasks by each team member, and optimized our team’s productivity and internal collaboration. With the help of this tool, our small team successfully tackled the development of Auburn’s first completely online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program in addition to our many other projects.
Curriculum Planning

Owner Manager Training (OMT) Curriculum Map
I worked with the operational leadership team in the corporate office of a franchise restaurant business to do a gap analysis, and we found that we could revamp the existing training program to better prepare owners and managers for leadership roles. In addition to the new focus on leadership development, we worked to elevate the engagement of the course by planning a blended experience of multimedia training, role-playing, branching scenarios, and interactive participant guides to facilitate peer-to-peer learning.

Curriculum Planning for East Central Soccer Officials Association
The dedicated referees who enable all of our local soccer matches found themselves in need of a training program for the high school season. I emphasized the need to replicate real-life experiences on the field through video-based branching scenarios and provide an opportunity for frequent knowledge checks throughout the content to master the rules of the game as dictated by the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS). You can view a sample of the training program in addition to the overall design process recorded in the sample provided.
